Wedding guest guide: enjoy the reception and the morning after
Weddings are long days: a ceremony, cocktail hour, toasts and dancing, often followed by a brunch. Here is how to time Good Spirits around all of it.
Key takeaways
- Take two capsules of Good Spirits (650 mg DHM, 200 mg clove extract) with your first drink at cocktail hour, and two more before the morning-after brunch.*
- Weddings can mean hours between meals: eat before the ceremony and again when dinner is served.
- Pace the Champagne toasts: bubbles can speed up how quickly alcohol is absorbed.
- Dancing in a warm room adds to the fluid alcohol already costs you, so keep water in hand.
When should you take Good Spirits at a wedding?
With your first drink, usually at cocktail hour, and again the next morning. That is two capsules each time: 650 mg DHM per serving and 1,300 mg across the wedding and the morning after.*
| Ingredient | Per serving | Before + next morning |
|---|---|---|
| DHM (dihydromyricetin) | 650 mg | 1,300 mg |
| Clove extract (Syzygium aromaticum) | 200 mg | 400 mg |
| Taurine | 100 mg | 200 mg |
| Choline (L-bitartrate) | 100 mg | 200 mg |
| B-complex (B1, B2, B3, B5, B6, B12) | High potency | Two servings |
Why does eating before the ceremony matter?
The ceremony, photos and cocktail hour can stretch for hours before dinner is served. Food in your stomach slows how quickly alcohol is absorbed,[1] so eat a real meal before you get dressed, and say yes to the hors d’oeuvres.
How do you pace the toasts?
A wedding can include a welcome drink, a signature cocktail, wine with dinner and a Champagne toast. In a study of 21 adults, 14 absorbed alcohol faster with a carbonated mixer than with still water,[2] so raise the glass and take a sip rather than a refill. Count standard drinks as you go: signature cocktails often contain more than one.[3]
What about the dance floor?
Alcohol already makes your body lose more fluid than usual,[4] and a warm room full of dancing adds to it. Grab a glass of water every time you come off the dance floor.
How should you handle the morning-after brunch?
Take your second serving of Good Spirits when you wake up, with water and breakfast. It brings another 650 mg DHM and 200 mg clove extract, plus a high-potency B-complex, taurine and choline to replenish what a long day takes.*
What does the wedding day look like?
| When | What |
|---|---|
| Before you get dressed | A real meal |
| Cocktail hour, first drink | 2 capsules of Good Spirits: 650 mg DHM, 200 mg clove extract, taurine, choline, B-complex |
| Dinner and toasts | Eat the meal, sip the toasts, water alongside the wine |
| Dance floor | A glass of water at every break |
| Getting home | A shuttle or ride booked in advance |
| Morning after | 2 more capsules, water and brunch |
DHM does not sober you up, it does not make it safe to drive, and it is not a reason to drink more. Celebrate the couple.
